9 celebrities get real about their post-pregnancy bodies
Women are strong and powerful beings. They are able to withstand the painful labor and delivery and take care of their kids. However, there has always been this expectation in society that women should immediately snap back into shape after giving birth.
Due to these expectations, women are pressured to become sexy again that if they don’t, it leaves them sad and depressed about their bodies.
Celebrities are able to easily get back in shape due to the availability of nannies and personal trainers. Their post-pregnancy bodies are kept in secret due to society’s scrutinizing eyes. But, it shouldn’t be this way. Women shouldn’t have to hide the scars, stretch marks, extra fat, and flabby stomach.
They are already beautiful and strong for they gave birth to a human being.
Thankfully, some celebs are now choosing to break the stigma and share their own postpartum bodies, hoping to normalize this stage of pregnancy once and for all.
1. Ashley Graham
Ashley Graham looks killer in her postpartum bikini shot! She didn’t even mention her stretchmarks in the photo’s caption – and why should she? Bringing them up is not necessarily the best way to normalize them. Instead, she wrote:
“Some things I love: a cute bathing suit and a backyard shoot with the family! We’ve had such great time making the most of this summer in Nebraska and these suits have me feeling great for my first summer as a mommy!”
2. Nadia Essex
British TV personality Natia Essex gave birth to the “perfect” baby earlier this year. She shared a series of shots of her beautiful postpartum body on Instagram, writing:
“I’m not doing this because I hate my body, I’m doing it because I love it 🥰 I’m in awe of what it did, grew my baby and kept us safe. ”
3. Jamie Otis
We all respond differently after giving birth, but Jamie Otis just wanted to eat and be comfy. It’s not too much to ask for, right? She posted a couple of snaps on her Instagram stories letting her followers know how she was feeling now she’d had her baby.
4. Melissa Suffield
Eastenders actress Melissa Suffield shared the realities of postpartum life on her Instagram stories. We have to wonder why stretch marks get such a bad rap when they look this beautiful. It’s time we all learned to normalize them like this.
5. Jenny Mollen
“Angel” star Jenny Mollen gave us a peak into her private life on Instagram when she shared a picture of her c-section scar. She wrote:
“I just met my new c-section scar for the first time this morning. Thank you Dr. Albert Sassoon for your artistry. Because I wish somebody had shown me a pic like this 9months ago, I’d like to insist this be your new business card.”
6. Daphne Oz
Daphane Oz shared several posts about getting back into things after giving birth, and she wanted people to understand that when it comes to exercise, there’s no right or wrong:
“Everyone starts somewhere. 💫#10weekspostpartum just got sweaty and it felt so GOOD!! only my second real workout since having Gigi.”
7. Jessie James Decker
Jessie James Decker is yet another inspirational celebrity mom, keeping nothing a secret when sharing her postpartum highs and lows. After giving birth to three babies, she wanted to be totally candid with her followers:
“I’ll be honest I still get insecure when I put a swimsuit on sometimes because of how much loose skin I have from my pregnancies. I worked really hard to lose all of my baby weight. Even gaining 55 pounds with my first. It’s no wonder I have so much loose skin two out of the three babies were 9 pounds 😬”
8. Sadia Slayy
Beauty influencer and blogger Sadia Slayy gave birth to her child nearly 2 years ago, and she had this to share on Instagram:
“Ive decided to share this even though it makes me 100% vulnerable to all of you and your judgements. I’m here to show you that we aren’t perfect. We all have flaws, and here is one of mine. I want you to feel better about yours and not be ashamed.”
9. Brie Bella
Retired professional wrestler and reality TV personality wanted to show her Instagram followers her reality after her second birth, writing:
“It’s been such a magical time✨ After giving birth it’s essential to take care of yourself so you can take care of the new love in your life too! Recovery the second time around has been so different in a good way because I was way more prepared”
